Hosted in a ski town, Sundance was the perfect place to premier the short documentary "The Movement." At first glance, it may seem that this film would be focused on politics based on the title, but contrary to first impressions, this short is about coping with disabilities.
Primarily focused on skiing, the short documentary follows four men and one woman who have disabilities. Many have lost their use of legs due to ski crashes and war injuries, another lost his eye sight to a chemical explosion.
All from different backgrounds, the men and woman come together when it comes to skiing. All originally distraught at their condition, each person learns in their own way that they are capable of doing anything they were before.
With a wonderful message, "The Movement" chronicles the way life goes on even if you have a setback. A masterfully put together short leaves the audience inspired. Not only that but for locals or skiers, it reminds us how much we love what we do and how lucky we are to do it.
After not skiing for five years after an accident that paralyzed him from the waist down, a successful business man takes back the slopes for his first time. Ending with a fist pump in the air for triumph, this adventure invoking short leaves the audience speechless.
